Barn at Chestnut Springs – Rainy Day Wedding
If you’ve ever traveled to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, you know that the weather can change often! Caroline and Brett traveled to TN to get married; the forecast was insanely crazy, but we pushed through it with hope. I’m not going to lie, I started stalking my weather apps as soon as their wedding weekend started populating. I prayed for at least a break in the weather to shoot their photos outside uninterrupted. Thankfully it didn’t rain on their wedding day and I was relieved! Yes, I am a great photographer, BUT I can’t compete with rain so we have to make the best out of the weather sometimes! Thankfully this time I didn’t have to channel my superpowers!
Pigeon Forge Wedding Venue
There are so many beautiful wedding venues here in Pigeon Forge, TN! One of my favorites is The Barn At Chestnut Springs. It’s tucked in a tiny hollow in the middle of the Great Smoky Mountains. It’s an old barn previously owned by Dolly Parton, turned wedding venue. It’s the cutest place! I also love the owner, Melanie, she’s amazing to work with! Every time I photograph weddings here they always go so smoothly!
Cade Cove Mr. and Mrs. Session
The day after their wedding they met me in The Great Smoky Mountains National Park for photos. I love doing a Mr. and Mrs. session inside the park! We met at sunset in Cades Cove and enjoyed some time watching bears and laughing as we adventured for their photos! I’ve included some of those in this blog too!
What If It Rains On My Wedding Day
First of all, PRAY! (lol) Ok, all jokes aside, it can be stressful when you see rain on the radar for your wedding day. For wedding vendors, we hate it for you too.
My number one piece of advice is to trust your wedding vendors! You hired these professionals for a reason, they have dealt with rain on wedding days before and they should have a plan B!
Secondly, if you are coming to TN, know that the weather will probably change several times.
Third, know that even if the weather doesn’t change the likelihood of it raining all day is very slim.
Fourth, don’t be afraid to get a little dirty. If it rains, it will be a little messy, but it will be worth it for good photos.
